CREATION 2024
With her explosive performance Down, Swiss dancer-choreographer Mélissa Guex offers us a descent into extasy.
Driven by an urgency to create with the times, the young woman uses her body to convey her anger, using the stage as a battlefield. Her work, permeated by feminist thoughts, is colored by her love of the club and aims to evoke strong reactions from the audience, creating powerful and unprecedented scenic images. From this fighting energy comes Down, which could be translated as getting down, letting go or abandoning oneself. Contrary to the daily injunctions of a corseted society, Mélissa Guex and drummer Clément Grin enter, in the same breath, into an unstable state, where everything affects, engages or precipitates. In the middle of the audience, they share a fiery, unreasonable, generous, insatiable dance, a collective groove into the abyss.
A duo in bright colors and festive costumes, a concert with punk rhythms to exorcise our down...
