Before closing its 2024 edition, Paris l'été entrusts the main stage of the Lycée Jacques Decour to Johan Papaconstantino, an extraordinary artist, capable of taking us on a journey through Mediterranean soundscapes...
Johan Papaconstantino's music is at once a sunset in the calanques at the tip of Marseille, a stroll in the port of Piraeus and the festive tunes of a self-taught young man. The man who started out mixing funk and electro records on his father's turntables produces a global, sentimental and terribly lively body of work. Today, he brings us the intoxicating beauty of his latest album, Premier degré, released in 2023. Accompanied by his guitar, bouzouki and machines, he gives a second life to Rebetiko, the music of his childhood, that of his parents, but above all that of the slums of Athens in the 30s.
Needless to say, for this closing concert, our souls will capsize, our heads in the stars...
